"A Never Ending Nightmare"
“Hey Bianca! Wait up!” I yelled out across the long school hallway on that cool Thursday afternoon. “What’s up?” Bianca replied as Krystel and I walked up to her to walk to class. “So are we going to the movies tomorrow night? Krystel asked hyperly as she and I practically bounced off the walls happily. “Yeah, my mom already said I could go. I swear if I wasn’t allowed to go I would probably explode in anger. I’ve waited so long for the Grudge 2 to be out in theatres.” She said excitedly as we ran up the stairs trying to get to class, knowing we wouldn’t make it in the 15 seconds we had left.
“Bbrriinngg!” The bell had rung as we ran like our lives depended on it to get to our class. We didn’t make it in time but to our surprise we had a substitute. “Yes!” We cried in unison panting and gasping for air. We don’t usually listen to our substitutes so we took the time to arrange our desks next to each other.
As we started blabbing and talking about nothing I brought up an interesting subject. “Hey, you guys. Guess what? I found out about this really old, creepy house at the end of Dead End Drive next to my street.” “Sounds freaky.” Said Bianca. “We should totally go inside after we watch the movie.” Krystel said as she acted like the daredevil she truly was. “Yeah, that’s what I was thinking, but I don’t think our parents would really let us go in there, so that means you guys would have to sleepover at my house. Plus my parents are going out so it will be a lot easier to get out of the house.” I said, knowing the both of them couldn’t wait for tomorrow. “Ok.” the both of them said nodding their heads in agreement as we all continuously talked about it.
But before we knew it the bell had already rung and the day was over. As we walked out of class all of us agreed to tell our parents about the sleepover.
Shortly after we said good-bye we departed onto our buses and went our separate ways. When I arrived home as usual I grabbed some food and sat in front of the television. I switched it on and looked for something to watch. Hmmm…MTV, Parental Control? Nope, saw that episode. MTV2? Ughh…saw that episode too. I guess I’m going to have to watch the news. “Hello, I’m Todd Griffin reporting today’s news. Currently we have an urgent message from the Broward County Jail reporting that a dangerous and murderous criminal had escaped and what’s worse is that he is a cannibal. He is completely crazy and will kill anyone under any circumstances. We advise everyone to stay indoors until he is captured. Thank you.” I switched off the television and burst out laughing. “Oh my god! Just because it’s the week before Halloween means that they have to make up these crazy and ridiculous stories?”
I called up Krystel and Bianca to tell them the joke, they started cracking up too. Now that I was on the phone I did not stop talking, I was so bored we all probably talked up ten ‘o’ clock but then I had to go take a shower and go to bed. As I woke up the next morning I was already excited.
When I got to school I met up with my redhead and brunette friends and we walked to class. We were all so excited that we kept talking about it all day. The teachers got so annoyed of us that they thought our voices sounded like nails on a chalkboard. Especially our language arts teacher. We just couldn’t hold in our joy and excitement.
After school we were all ready for the movies. As my mom dropped us off at the theatre we quickly ran to buy our tickets, get our popcorn and claim our seats. The moment we were inside the theatre and sitting in our seats our excitement turned to fear. There were so many scary parts we could barely keep our screams in. When we walked out of the theatre we were shaking with fear and we couldn’t even go to the bathroom because we were scared to be alone, so we just had to hold it. “Damn, that was so scary…but so good!” I said as we were awaiting Krystel’s mom to come pick us up. When she came we had second thoughts about going into the haunted house.
We had arrived at my house scared and freaked out. Now we were home alone, perfect for our plan of sneaking out. We were in my room discussing the plan and getting some stuff. Flashlights and cell phones, ok now we were good.
When we were walking across the street I heard some weird sounds, it freaked me out a little but it was only Krystel shivering because she was so scared. It sounded like a frog was in her throat. We were only inches away from the front door that led to the nightmare we were about to enter. With flashlights in hands and cell phones in our pockets we had entered the old, abandoned and gruesome house.
The inside was moldy and cold and the walls were all screwed up looking like there was blood splattered all over them.
“You guys, do you know what this reminds me of?” Bianca asked in such a quiet tone it sounded like a whisper. “Shut up! I really don’t want to think about that right now!” I said furiously yet at the same time scared to death. Somehow after at that exact moment I started hearing heavy breathing, I assumed it was my imagination so I didn’t say anything.
The three of us were walking down an old hallway, it felt like the walls were watching our every move, then we finally arrived in the boring, old bedroom. The ground was all muddy and gooey apart from all the other rooms…."Krystel shine your flashlight at the ground please.” I said frightened at what I thought it might be. Ok, whatever.” She sounded a bit confused. The moment that the bright light shined of the dark floor our eyes had widened at the greatest fear we had ever witnessed. Blood. The ground was covered in blood. We all screamed until I heard something in the closet.
I was so afraid and I knew I just couldn’t open it but curiosity got the best of me. I opened the old, wooden closet and shrieked. Corpses and dead, bloody bodies had fallen out. I was so scared. I turned to the girls behind me and to my sudden surprise I saw Krystel but not Bianca. “Krystel…. where is Bianca?” I screamed out. “What are you talking about? She’s right he-” She didn’t finish her sentence. We looked at each other in true fear and felt like bursting out crying.
“We have to get out of here!” Kystel yelled out. “What about Bianca?” “She’s dead! And I’m not going to go look for her. I’m too scared. Let’s just make a run for it.” She said. We both ran out of the room and as soon as I reached for the doorknob something screamed. It was Bianca. We rushed up the stairs yelling. “WE’RE COMING BIANCA! HOLD ON” We screamed as we ran up the blood-covered stairs. When we opened the door we felt like dropping dead. There was Bianca. Head hanging from a hook and body on the ground all torn up on the insides. Blood was everywhere.
Krystel and I shrieked our heads off and right before my eyes Krystel was grabbed by some terrifying man covered in blood.
All alone, running as fast as I could towards the door something caught my leg. I jolted down the end of the stairs. Only an inch away from the door and feeling a river of blood seeping down my leg. I had managed to get up a little but my leg wouldn’t move. "Trapped?!” A metal trap was around my leg that I couldn’t break free of. Covered in blood and tears pouring down my face.
This is so cruel. Why would anyone do this? I thought to myself. I tried to reach my phone but I was too weak besides there was no signal and it was covered in blood. Tears were streaming down my face as the leg brace pierced my skin and then I screamed out so loudly that my throat felt like it was being torn apart.
Then something else screamed. Krystel. She was standing beside me with her tears also glistening down her face and the stranger was there too.
He took a giant knife and ran it across her stomach and tore her in half right before my very eyes. Another scream came out of me but not as loud because my vocal cords were torn. He dropped her next to me and was getting ready to stab me.
Flashes of the life I had ran through my head and I remembered the news broadcast yesterday. I felt so stupid for not believing it. Then I saw him raise his bloody arm and stab me right in the heart. So much pain ran through my body I couldn’t bear it. I knew it was all over. I was dead. It’s the end.
