Landra: WW2 memorial honors more than a million people who have served in the armed forces of the United States, there were more than 400,000 who supported from home.
Nicole; The WW2 memorial is considered a national park who all the people in WW2 that have died fighting in war.
Landra; WW2 is connected to the holocaust which is basically all over again in Darfur, Africa.
Nicole; The memorial is located in the National Mall in Washington D.C. at the eastern end of the reflecting pool, between the Lincoln memorial and Washington monument.
Landra; WW2 Memorial park was opened to the public April 29th, 2004 and waas dedicated by president George W. Bush on May 29th, 2004. Which is two days before memorial day. The WW2 Memorial Park is administrated by the national park service.
Nicole; There is no way to count how many people go to the WW2 Memorial because it is in the National Mall. Since it is in the National mall there is no box office. But we can estimate that about more then 200,000 people go to WW2 Memorial.
Landra; When people go to the WW2 Memorial they can expect to see the Washington monument, Lincoln memorial, the reflecting pool, a long curved wall where millions of names are carved in, of those who served in the WW2 below this wall there are roses, letters, poems from friends, family and strangers for the people who died in WW2.
Nicole; The Freedom Wall is on the west side of the memorial, with a view of the reflecting pool and Lincoln memorial behind it. The wall contains 4,048 gold stars, each represent 100 Americans who died in the war.
Landra; The significance of this park is to honor all who have fought in WW2. The memorial honors the 16 million who served in the armed forces in WW2.
