Miami chief's son gets 18 months in pot case

Sean Timoney, 26, pleaded guilty in December 2005 to giving an undercover Drug Enforcement Administration agent a gym bag filled with about $455,000 in cash as partial payment for what he and a partner believed would be the delivery of 400 pounds of marijuana. He had faced a maximum of 40 years in prison and a 2 million dollar fine. Chief John Timoney was in court wednesday, but did not comment on his son's sentencing.

Do you think it' strange that Sean Timoney's father, Chief John Timoney, attended to his son's sentencing, but did not comment?

After his release from prison, Do you think its nessacary for Sean Timoney to be supervised for four years and enter a drug treatment program? Why or why not?
