The year was 1956, the scariest nights of all nights ..Halloween. The night where all sorts of terrible things happen. For Annie Corwin, this night was the best night of all, she loved the fact that anything mysterious could happen.
Annie decided to have a sleepover party at her house; she invited some of the neighborhood girls. The twins Macy and Lacy Stuart, Margaret Johnson, and Allison Trubeck, Annie didn’t know why she invited her, she didn’t like her that much to begin with.
Annie’s party was fun, the girls were dancing and talking and having a lot of fun. That is, until Annie got an idea.
‘I think it’s time for a little scare.’ she thought.
She grabbed the flashlight off her nightstand, and switched off the light. The girls screamed. “Calm down guys.” Annie said as he switched on the flashlight and put it to her face.
“Don’t do that!” Macy said as she sat next to Annie. “You scared me!”
“You’re supposed to be scared, its Halloween isn’t it?” Annie shot back. The girls giggled, Macy didn’t. “I think the time has come for a scary story.” Annie said menacingly. “But we’ve heard all your stories before Annie, you tell them everyday.” Margaret said to her. “Well this one is different.” Annie said soothingly as she sat criss-crossed on her rug.
“ My grandpa used to work in a cemetery, he told me that if you step on a grave then the dead person buried there will reach up and pull you under, then you’ll be dead too!” she whispered hoarsely.
“Oh Baloney!” all the girls turned to face Allison, “You’re grandpa was a complete loony and everybody knows it!” Allison snapped. Annie glared at her, but then her expression turned into a smirk. “Oh really Allison? Since you’re so smart and brave then why don’t you go to the cemetery two blocks from here and step on a grave?” Lacy gasped.
“No way! You guys are crazy.” Annie shook her head, “See? You’re just too scared to, aren’t you?” Annie shot back. “No, I’m just not going to do it.”
“Let it go, Annie, she’s too scared.” Margaret said to her.
“I am not!” Allison yelled. But the girls kept taunting her and taunting her until she just gave up and yelled “Fine I’ll do it!” she trotted over to Annie and snatched the flashlight out of her hand. “Wait.” Lacy said, she handed Allison a letter opener.
“Take this and stick it in the grave, so we’ll know that you were really there. We’ll go back and get it in the morning.” Allison shrugged and walked out the door.
She shivered as she walked down the dark, lonely street to the cemetery. ‘I really must be crazy for doing this.’ she said as she pushed open the big iron gates. ‘Let’s just get this over with.’ she thought.
She chose a grave closer to the gates, she got down on her knees and plunged the night gown into the dirt. She goes up and dusted off her hands and started to walk back to the gates. She felt something tugging on her nightgown. Fear over took her body as she froze in place.
She started to scream. But no one heard her.
Meanwhile, back at the house, the girls were starting to worry about Allison, she’s been gone for almost an hour. So they left and went to look for her.
It didn’t take long to find her, but there she was sprawled on a grave, dead. She died thinking she was in death’s grasp when she merely plunged the letter opener into the hem of her nightgown. Allison Trubeck had simply died of fright.

Great twist at the end with an excellent touch of realism. Love it!
I would like to see more in the middle--you seem to skip a little bit, and more transitions might make the story flow a little bit better.
Overall great job.

I agree with ms.Lambard. It freaked me out because you used my name with the girl that died [but mine is spelled different.]

amazing job!
